For history lovers, here is some information about the origins of the castle. This castle first became a stately home in 1583, when the Vion family acquired the estate. It was a very simple building consisting solely of the main structure and a wing, with no moldings or mascaron.

All that remains of the old castle surrounded by moats is a section that clearly dates back to the 16th century. The preservation of these buildings and the beauty of the setting make it a most pleasant residence. Warée, a landscape architect, made the most of the castle grounds.

He had trees and shrubs planted in groups that contrasted and harmonized with each other, with dark colors in the foreground, followed by ash-colored and soft green foliage. The estate remained in the Vion family until the early 20th century.
